With Halloween coming up, I’ve been wondering what we’ll do this year. They don’t really celebrate the holiday here but we usually like to mark it in some way. Last year we had a Halloween party and invited Nico’s entire class. It was INSANE. There were children in capes running every which way, sword fights, spilled Orange Fanta, spilled tears, and way too much high-pitched screeching for my taste. When everyone left and the potato chip dust had cleared, I was left with a very sticky house and the realization that a careless ninja had sat on a cupcake on top of one of my handmade quilts. We will not be repeating the experience this year.
Instead I was thinking about making our own candy at home and then bringing to to Nico’s class to distribute. For inspiration I’ve been looking at this great candy art! Unfortunately, I have been unable to find out who the artists are for the first two images. If anyone knows, please let me know so I can give credit!
Love this watercolor by artist Sheryl Hawkins
The below comes from some gift wrap at Kate’s Paperie. Again, I wish I knew who the artist was!
Naturally, I had to include the classic Halloween Snickers bar. This one was painted by illustrator Maira Kalman
My mouth is now watering. Here are some the the recipes I’ve been considering making-
